Q is for QUESTIONS!

Happy Friday, blog-world! it has been SUCH a long, busy week for me. I am excited for some much-needed down time this weekend....and some FOOTBALL! MSU kicks off their football season against LaTech on Saturday....GO DAWGS!! :)
So Q is a pretty tough letter! I have decided to go with QUESTIONS..and do a fun survey! Pretty clever, if I do say so myself! Enjoy!
1. How bad is your road rage? It can be pretty bad at times...especially when people don't use turn signals. I really hate that.
2. What is the best and the worst movie you saw last summer? I have NO idea...I can't remember movies i saw a month ago!

12. Have you ever punched someone out of anger? Never. I tend to scream when i'm angry..but only when i'm by myself. I really hope that doesn't make me sound psycho. I also clean when i'm angry!
13. What would you say if someone told you to describe Coca-Cola? It makes my teeth feel like there's a film on them.
14. What's your least favorite thing about your car? It's German.

N is for Nana

Not MY Nana of course, but Taylee & Braylon's Nana, which happens to be my mama! her given name is Nina, which makes her PERFECT for "N Day"! If you DON'T know Nana, let me tell you how much you are missing out on! This lady is CRAZY..and WONDERFUL...and SO MUCH FUN. I feel so blessed to be able to call her my mother. She keeps her family number 1, and is a wonderful grandmother as well! She's also funny....the other day on the way back from Tupelo, she asked Lindsay and I if we'd ever seen Elvis in concert. Apparently she forgot how old we were...or young, rather. Turns out, she meant via DVD or video..but it's funnier to think that she thinks we're that old! Wonder how old that would make HER? Anyways...this letter is for my mama who i love with my whole heart!

M is for Mondays..

Happy Monday...hope you're all staying dry in the monsoon that is going on outside. Me, not so much. I own 4 umbrellas and can't find a single one.
I went shopping with my mommy and my sister and the babies on saturday. It was a blast, despite a cranky 2 year old that DESTROYED the Gap (this would be Taylee, not some random kid, if you're wondering!) We rode the carousel over and over again, and this was the only time Taylee was happy. Pictures to come soon, i promise! Along with the ones from Sturgis that i've yet to post! i'm a picture-slacker! We bought Braylon Big-Boy clothes..he now owns jeans, his very first pair of real shoes, and khaki pants, as well as a slammin golfer's cap. he's so handsome! and growing up so fast! OK back to work...i think this post will post as friday...because i started it friday with a completely different M subject..but got sidetracked and never finished. Nevertheless, here it is. Stay tuned for "N"! :)

L

L should be for LACK of blogging! I missed a day...sorry, my faithful readers. Yesterday was an extremely busy day for me! Today is quite busy as well, and i love it. I still decided i should squeeze in a few minutes of blog time! You can thank me later.

Today, i'm going to talk about some of my favorite "L" people. It seems that my blogging subjects tend to revolve around people...but they are all very important to me. and i feel the need to share them with you :) The first "L" person I will introduce you to is my Lennie. This, of course, is Lindsay, my one and only sister, and best friend. Lennie and I go way back...obviously, 23 years, since she was born! We haven't always been close, mind you. We've had our ups and downs, our share of screaming-at-the-top-of-our-lungs matches (usually in the summers when we were home by ourselves during the day), and a few knock-down-drag-out fights. I'm sure, if she's reading this, she's recalling the time I tied her up with her own socks. If you're lucky enough to know this story, you're probably rolling with laughter right about now...if you don't know it, i'd be glad to share it with you, much to Lennie's dismay, I am sure. Lennie means so much to me and has brought SO much to my life...including the most precious niece & nephew a girl could EVER ask for. We still have our ups and downs...mostly because i like to make sure she's taking care of herself and not being hurt by ANYONE...and sometimes i tend to forget she IS 23 years old...but she'll always be my baby sister and i'll always love her the mostest and the biggest, with my whole heart :)

Lennie and I, Polliwog's, 2008

Another "L" person to introduce to you is my friend Laura. Laura and I have been friends for almost 8 years...and that's a LONG time. Laura is partially responsible for the life experiences I gained while living in Jacksonville, Florida & Savannah, Georgia. We have been through so much together: family tragedy, significant-other-troubles, and losing friends. I met Laura at the good ole Ruby Tuesday..we were both working our way through college and we became fast, good friends. After I moved back to Mississippi, Laura and I lost touch for a bit. But thankfully, we are regaining our friendship and I'm so glad she's back in my life. She's a wonderful person and a very fun friend. And, after all, she is the only person who knows that i really don't know who Houston actually is, and I'm not the world's genius when it comes to snakes...or anything else that has to do with science.

Steph, Sherri, Me, Cody, Leslie, Laura, Julie, Gene, Gracie, Beth & Robin-2004

I love you girlies!

I'll sign out with this quote, appropriate for "L" day...and i love it...

"Love, I've come to understand, is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day."

K Day

K is for my mantra of the day... "Keep on hoping..."

In other news, I most certainly did NOT slack off yesterday, blog-wise. No worries to the two of you that read my blog, i was out sick with a killer headache yesterday. I did, however, have a fabulous time at the Sturgis Bike Rally. Wick and I headed out Friday evening as soon as we got off work, and headed that way again saturday morning. We ate much fried food (which, sorry to say, did NOT agree with me late Friday evening), and spent a lot of time with my family. I have discovered a new favorite dessert, thanks to the many vendors at the rally: Deep Fried Oreos.

These, my friends, are HEAVEN on EARTH. They are oreo cookies DEEP FRIED in funnel cake batter..which is another favorite of mine! Sadly, I ate 2 helpings on Saturday...no, not by myself, i had assistance for BOTH helpings. So I think that makes it ok. That, and the fact that I only will have the chance to eat fried oreos once a year, so i better indulge while i can. My next dessert experiment: the deep fried twinkie. I'll keep you posted on how that turns out...

Back to work...much to catch up on from being out yesterday with the headache from hell...until tomorrow.. :)

JUST a few words...

  • Today is "J" day. Today is also FRIDAY, which i am ULTRA SUPER excited about! It's been a long, long week, my friends, and I am ready to spend a relaxing weekend with the people i love the mostest. One of those people just happens to be a "J" person...and his name is Wick, but for blogging purposes, we'll use his "given" name, Jeremy. Since I do love a good, organized list, i will speak about the things i love about Jeremy in list-form. Here goes...

Have you seen him? he's adorable!
  • He loves my Flossie Jayne (ok love is a strong word, he tolerates her, which is enough for me)!
  • Because of him, I've learned that wheat pasta isn't all that bad. I actually prefer it.
  • He eats what I cook. Even when it's ugly as sin. Or falls apart. Or it's chicken pot-pie.
  • He tells me what I'm doing wrong when i cook, so I won't get bitchy the next time i try to make it.
  • He drinks wine with me.
  • He occasionally brings me wine.
  • He likes Moscato wine (wine is very important to me, if you haven't noticed).
  • He will watch movies like 27 Dresses, Baby Mama, and the Lake House with me...every now and then, all the while, telling me they are predictable and girlie...
  • He's absolutely hilarious.
  • He let's me complain and vent all I want to, even when i'm being a big ole baby or a big ole bitch.
  • He doesn't just tell me what I want to hear, but at the same time doesn't make me feel like things are "all my fault".
  • He makes fun of me in the nicest ways.

This is only scratching the surface of his fabulousness. I thought it would be nice to share with the blog-world how special he is on J-day :)

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend...I'm off to Sturgis for the Bike Rally and some good ole' family fun!

PS. i realize this post has no consistency as far as spacing...but i give up. blogger is complicated somtetimes. or maybe it's me...whatev, it's friday. i'm out :)

H is for...

H is for a lot of things today. H is for HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear, dear friend Melanie. Her birthday was Monday, and OF COURSE i told her happy birthday on said day...but i have been reserving my blog-birthday-shout-out for this day, when i could give her an entire letter for herself! I met Melly through my mom, actually, and the good ole MPS. After we became FABULOUS friends over many sushi dinners and drinks..Melly graduated from Mississippi State and moved off to Dallas, TX. She works for BBJ Linen and does a FABULOUS job....but i miss her TERRIBLY! Melly is a gorgeous person inside and out and i'm very lucky to have her in my life. Here's an OLD pic of my mommy and Melly at my housewarming partay :)

Another good H to blog about is my new friend Holley :) I met Holley when I started at Dux D'Lux and i just LOVE her. Do you know her? You should! Holley always brightens my day by making jokes, good conversation, and, most importantly, telling me I look pretty! I'm glad she's been placed in my life and look forward to making many memories with her! I dont have any pictures of us..cause i'm a slacker..but after the Big Bad Bike Rally this weekend, I assure you, we'll have plenty.

My Taylee Buggins is spending the night with me tonight :) i'm excited! Love spending time with that cute lil girl!

Happy Hump Day!

I have had a headache for 2 days now. Straight. TWO DAYS. So, G is for GO AWAY. And that's really all I have to say today.

The Letter F

F is for my fabulous weekend! I love weekends of any kind....but this one was pretty relaxing. Friday night i spent with my mom, sister and the babies. It was wonderful, of course. I love any time i get to spend with them. Saturday I got my hair colored and it's Fabulous :) After my morning in the salon, i went antiquing with my mom and she bought me an old trunk. it is a wonderful addition to my living room and i absolutely L-O-V-E it! Saturday night, i had a wonderful evening with Wick: dinner at Abner's, while watching the Olympics, of course, and then on to Movie Gallery. Listen to how sweet this man is: he watched 27 Dresses with me. I know, how Fabulous! We drank wine and had a good ole time...and of course, Sunday was spent being lazy..my signature Sunday activity.

F is also for FOOTBALL. After hanging out with Wick on Saturday, I caught football fever from him, i do believe. It's so cute to see him so excited about football season...and after catching some of the games last season...I'm definitely more of a football fan than i have ever been. I can't wait to go to some of the games this season. Here's a collage from the Liberty Bowl from last Football season...what a fun weekend this was! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I am not really a fan of Monday's tho....

E is for EGGS!

So, i know i said i was getting a pedicure on Tuesday...well, i didn't. I had such a splitting headache, there was no way i could sit through a pedicure with all those fumes in the nail place! :( So, after work last night, i went to walgreens and purchased my very own egg...a PED EGG, that is. People, this is a wonderful invention. If you don't have one, i suggest you run out and invest 10 bucks in this thing PRONTO! I was a little skeptical at first..but it really works. Today, my lil feets are as soft as a baby's bottom! and it comes with an emery patch that you stick onto one side of the egg and use in between "eggings". I am sold on this one :) I'm not really sure how often you're supposed to use it..but i think i am going to become addicted to soft feet.

In other news, it's FRIDAY!!! I dont know about the rest of you, but this has been one long week. I am ready for a relaxing weekend: getting my hair highlighted tomorrow, maybe catching a few rays, hopefully seeing the niece & nephew, and hopefully some QT with the Wick :)

Oh, and i try to stay away from the computers on wekeends, so i'll have to continue my blogging on Monday! Have a wonderful weekend!

D is for...

So, I think I have blogger's block. It's a little too early in my blogging career to be blocked...but, alas, i am. Plus, I don't think D is a very interesting letter. All i can think of to write about on that subject is the wonderful Shipley's donut that i am eating at this very minute. Thanks to the boss-lady for bringing them, since i only ate cereal for breakfast, and the hunger pains were starting to kick in!! OH how i love donuts...especially Shipley's...they are ALMOST as good as Krispy Kreme.....notice i said ALMOST....nothing beats those HOT NOW delights.

Last night was a very relaxing evening, and was MUCH deserved after a crappy, crappy day (minus the FABULOUS sushi lunch i shared with wick, holley & wilson). I made a cheapie pizza for dinner and ate ice cream afterwards. There was ZERO quality television to watch, so i read a good southern book, then got in bed and watched Reba DVD's. I just love Barbra Jean! I'm pretty pumped about the Olympics starting this week....i love gymnastics!!

C is for....

So, today is "C" day..and I have many things I could talk about for this letter. First, I MUST talk about 2 fabulous finds that I purchased at Kroger last night. Apparently I was CRAVING (another C word! i feel like Elmo!) something sweet, because i NEVER want ice cream...but, my friends, i bought not one, but TWO pints of ice cream. The first kind that grabbed my sweet tooth was, of course, Ben & Jerry's. They are by far my fave ice cream duo ever. I usually stick to the Half Baked Twisted, which has cookie dough & brownie chunks mixed into chocolate ice cream. I'm a bit of a chocoholic, fyi. But this time, i splurged on the Cake Batter. OMG. it's heavenly.

I also decided that, since i was craving banana pudding last week, i'd get Blue Bell's Banana Pudding ice cream...since i love banana pudding, but hate bananas. This is also equally wonderful...with little chunks of vanilla wafers in it!

So that's my sweet's recommendation for the day...no worries, i only ate 2 bites of each of these delicacies last night. :)

So...last night i decided i wanted to COOK spaghetti & meatballs...and told Wick to come over and eat with me. Sounds fun, right? Well, FYI, i cannot make meatballs. This turned into a greasy, falling apart mess. Wick ate them, he's the sweetest :) but i preferred the spaghetti & sauce. I have leftover, uncooked meatballs in my fridge...so if you have an idea of what i can do with those that will be more successful..let me know! I LOVE to cook...but i tend to get a little..um...upset...when my recipes don't go as planned. I make Kick-Ass tacos....but they get old sometimes..i like to try new things. I just need to not take it so personally I suppose. I'm really getting better at cooking...at least i hope so :)

Another C word for today is CAR. The best feeling in the world is having a car that's paid for. The worst feeling in the world is knowing that that "paid for" car is on it's way to automobile heaven. That's the feeling i'm experiencing today. My lil Roxy Jetta is on the way out....and i'm not really doing a lot to help her survive. It's no secret that i'm no good at car care. Wick has instructed me that i MUST get my oil changed regularly...and i did just that last week, without being prompted by anyone. Well, this morning...on my way to the gas station...i ran out of gas. I've done this once before...came close several times before...but only run out once. With gas prices sky high, i know i'm not the only one who pushes a tank of gas to the limits. Apparently I need to learn exactly what those limits are. But, as always my parents came to the rescue, and I appreciate them so much. I just feel really stupid...ahh well what can ya do? So after a pretty crappy morning..i'm settling in at work and the day is looking up. I'm ready for a sushi lunch and a relaxing evening.

Did I mention that I look ULTRA-Cute today? :)

B is for Beijing, Beautiful Feet & Braylon

Well, I've made it to day 2, yay for me! Continuing with my alphabet game, I saw some rather disturbing news on the Early Show, which i am completely addicted to, yesterday morning. In anticipation for the Olympic games in Beijing, the government has ordered a row of houses to have a "decorative wall" built around them, because these "unsightly homes" are along the Torch Run and will receive much media coverage on Friday, the day of the Opening Ceremonies. Other homes that were unable to be concealed by this wall were TORN DOWN. That's right..these people are left homeless because their homes are not pretty enough to be seen by the rest of the world. Excuse me, but how, in anyone's mind, is this right?? I don't usually get involved in heavy discussions about the news, religion, politics..or anything of that nature...i'm not much for confrontations. But this topic just struck me. The Olympics are supposed to bring the world together, right? Right..unless your house is ugly. Then you're just SOL, i suppose. I can only hope, as Wick mentioned, that the Chinese government is providing these poor people with some sort of compensation....perhaps a "Buy a prettier home" fund?

My next "B" topic begins on a much lighter note....today is pedicure day with the girls! I love these days. Even though summer is coming to an end, all girls in the south know that open-toed shoe season extends well into the fall, thus, our feet must be presentable! Plus, it's always nice to have someone rub your legs and make you feel relaxed, especially after a long day of work :). So, Nails City, here we come :) If only they served wine with these pedicures.....hmmm.

"B" raylon is also a wonderful topic for the letter "B". He's the newest addition to the fam...and quite possibly the sweetest. My sister's 2nd child, Braylon, just sits back and takes all the craziness in...quite possibly thinking "Am I really related to all these crazy people?" Braylon is at the doctor this morning, hopefully getting a good report. Lindsay was pretty sure on Sunday that he had thrush (which i have assured myself that i CANNOT catch from kissing those sweet lips, cheeks, ears...) but all signs seemed to have cleared up yesterday evening. She took him to the doctor anyways to check it out, and dragged Taylee with her as well. My sweet angel face niece was not herself last night at ALL. She was QUIET, and anyone who knows Taylee knows that when she's quiet, she's doing something she's not supposed to, or she doesn't feel good at ALL. Last night she complained of an earache, and her eyes were glassy & watery. Poor babes. Here's hoping to a good report for both of them from the doctor this morning!

A is for the Alphabet Game!

So, 2 posts in 1 day: I'm off to a great start! Through my faithful blogstalking, I've seen many fellow bloggers participate in the alphabet game, although i've not seen many actually finish this game. I am going to challenge myself to not only post a different letter each day, but to finish this challenge, as well! So, "A" is for Alphabet Game (call me a cheater if you will, but i'm all about starting off easy!)....

My First Blog. Ever.

So, after months of faithful almost-daily blogstalking, I have entered the blog world as more than a spectator. I can't promise I'll always have the most interesting stories...but now I have my own little place on the web. I think it's a good creative outlet for me...I get pretty creative, although it comes in spurts. So we'll see how this goes...I think it will also allow me to release my inner Carrie Bradshaw...sitting at the computer, and contemplating my thoughts.

This is my sweet angel Flossie Jayne. Isn't she adorable? We spent a weekend full of quality time together. She's been feeling a little neglected lately, i believe...Anyways, we had a long night Thursday night. My niece, Taylee, came over for a sleep-over, which didn't really include much sleep. So Friday night, Flossie Jayne and I snuggled up on the couch and watched multiple episodes of Sex and the City. After Flossie Jayne passed out on me, I was feeling creative (told you it comes in spurts), so I engrossed myself in a crafts project involving a broken mirror and lots of paint, that turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself! Saturday, I woke up to sunny skies and hot temperatures! After rounding up Holley and Carla, my fabulous new friends from work, we decided the day would be spent lounging on floats (courtesy of the ever-prepared Carla!) and catching some much needed rays, Pina Coladas in hand, of course! We had a marvelous time, just having girl time. It was a beautiful day and I really look forward to hanging with these girls again soon! After pool time, I was exhausted! I refueled with a wonderful nap, and then headed to my mom & dad's for a casual family supper and fun times with the niece & nephew, which is NEVER a bad idea, in my book!

After the big-bad storm left the area, I headed home for some hanging out time with Wick, which I always look forward to. :)

Sunday was spent cleaning, trying on clothes (and was pleasantly surprised to find ones that fit, that didnt used to fit!), and doing laundry. After a very productive day (I may have squeezed a short nap in there...), Wick & I headed to my parents house for a yummy dinner, including a fabulous chocolate cake for dessert! It was a good, quiet weekend, and sometimes, ya just need that.

Well, for my first blog attempt, i think i did pretty darn good :) We'll see how long this lasts....
